What is Automated Teller Machine(ATM) Card skimming?. it is very common these days as with the increase in use of ATM Cards, Plastic cards are more prone to frauds and also very easy way to make money by fraudsters. ATM skimming is making a copy of ATM card details by use of Simple Chip which can read the details in Magnetic ATM card and after wards the details copied can be inserted/ moved to new ATM card and same will be used to withdraw the money/Funds.

                             

The Skimming of Automated Teller Machine(ATM) Card is done in 2 Steps::

1.  ATM card reader: The fraudster will use a simple chip reader which can be placed on the ATM Machine. the Chip will be prepared keeping in view the model of the ATM machine targeted and chip main feature is to read the ATM card. ATM cards which are magnetic, their data can be easily read by the chip and store the same for future use.The Chip will be made on a Plastic material which will look alike the original ATM card inserted Part and the Chip will be hidden inside the Plastic material. The Fraudster will use high adhesive gum which can stick with ATM machine easily and when used force same can be removed from ATM machine. The Fraudster will paste the operational Chip to ATM card reader Portion of ATM machine.once a Person went to withdraw amount from Machine, the chip will read the information of the Card and it will store in its memory with date and time .

when a customer goes for the ATM usage at once he will not be able to differentiate by just one look at the ATM machine. that is the reason mostly people Data are Stolen and misused by the Fraudster by withdrawal of their hard earned Money at different Places in Short Span of Time.
                                       

                                               

2. Pin capturing: As only Having Card details will not serve the purpose as doing transaction with the ATM will require the ATM Pin. once a fraudster have the ATM card data he will require PIN, to get the PIN fraudster will use the Micro Cameras. These Micro cameras can be placed on the surface of the ATM machine or inside the ATM room that nobody can even identified that there is any Micro Camera. Micro Camera will also be used with highly adhesive  gum which can stick with ATM machine easily and when used force same can be removed from ATM machine.
                                    

When A customer do transaction, the PIN entered will be recorded with date and time and same will be used with video reference the corresponding details of ATM card in chip reader. Fraudster will be able to know our ATM card details as well as ATM PIN.

Magnetic ATM cards details captured will be transferred to new ATM cards and the New ATM Card can be used to withdraw money from one's bank account.

In case of receiving any unauthorized or any transaction not done by you, Please report to your Bank within 3 days and get the ATM card blocked also.

                                             

Being a Culprit of Someone else doing you can save yourselves by being more active while doing transaction and using ATM machine. So Keep an eagle eye on the ATM card reader Part of the ATM Machine and just move your hand with little force over ATM card reader to check for any suspicious thing attached with ATM machine.
